Nippers Update - November 23

27 Nov 2021 by Rhys Davies

Good Morning all,

Well, we are not getting much luck to the start of the season 4 weekends in and we have had 1 slightly sunny, 2 cold and wet and this weekend is unfortunately a total wash out. To ensure the utmost safety of the children we have decided to Cancel this weekend’s Nipper session. Not only have we got excessive rain and run off but we are also expecting a cold day tomorrow with 7mtr seas which is not ideal.

Despite this and to keep things positive I am pleased to say we now have 53 Nippers fully registered and signed up with another 13 in pending and circa 8 other enquiries. If your membership is still pending please not all that is required to complete this is a transfer of funds to the club – if you can send me your payment summaries / exchanges and I can approve those. If you are waiting to pay by cash – that’s OK we will collect these next weekend. For those still waiting to register – if you can please get into the SLSA portal and get this done that would be very helpful. If you need instructions on this drop me an email.

In more good news our fundraiser has over $1,300 in it so far – a great effort by all. Please continue to share the links at the bottom of this email to help us raise the funds to buy some much needed equipment to support the nippers development. Every little helps!

Additionally, I have managed to secure at least one new sponsor and I am working hard with a number of local organisations around partnerships and sponsorships which will assist in raising the funds we require for the year. If anyone knows of any potential sponsors in the areas that may be interested in partnering with us please feel free to put them directly in contact with me (dets below) and I can take up the discussion. This is in addition to confirming our longstanding relationship with Clyde Isuzu will continue and they will be our major sponsor for the year – thanks to Tracy for securing this for us.

Finally, I understand we now have a number of parents that have undertaken the training – well done all and thank you very much for your help. Hopefully we can start to get some of you involved at our next training session!

So all up, we are having a great start to the season and we have some real traction to build from.

For all those nippers that have yet to complete the proficiency – don’t panic, we will get this done the second we can get back to the beach.

Any questions come back to me.

Look forward to HOPEFULLY seeing you all on the beach next week!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend – and spread the word about the cancelled session.

Thanks all!
